About Park City Lacrosse

The Organization

In 1995 Park City Lacrosse began fielding teams for high school boys and girls.  In 2000, the non-profit Park City Lacrosse Organization (PCLO) was incorporated.  The following year, PCLO was awarded the Park City Municipal Corporation Youth Advisory Council Grant for development of the boys’ team and the annual Christmas Tree Pick-up fundraiser began. www.parkcitylax.org went online.  PCLO became a 501 c 3 organization in 2002.  Again in 2003, PCLO was awarded the Park City Municipal Corporation Youth Advisory Council Grant, for the girls high school lacrosse program.  PCLO began funding high school girls’ lacrosse in 2003. In 2007, PCLO took over the youth league from Basin Recreation Organization and a youth board was formed. In the 2008 youth, 1st - 8th grade spring season, over 250 girls & boys played in the ULA youth lacrosse league. The high school girls & boys teams fielded over 85 players in the 2008 spring season. In 2008 PCLO hosted for the first time the Utah State High School Lacrosse Championships and All Star games at PCHS Dozier Field.
The PCLO is governed by a 16 person board composed of two committees, one that runs the high school boys organization and another that runs the high school girls organization. Our Youth Organization reports to the PCLO President and PCLO Board and operates with it’s own members.

High School Boys Team

The high school boys program developed rapidly following the 1995 season, adding more participants each year and gaining recognition as a club sport at Park City High School in 2001.  In 2002, the boys’ team made their first appearance in the Las Vegas tournament.  Their successful season led to their first appearance in the Utah State Lacrosse Championship playoffs making it to the quarterfinals.  In 2005, the boys’ team advanced to the Utah State Lacrosse Championship playoffs playing in the semi-finals with a team record of 11 wins/5 losses.  Games began being played at Dozier field.  Varsity letters for both boys and girls lacrosse were awarded for the first time.  In 2007, Ryan Shaeffer takes over as Varsity Head and his tenure and as coach culminated with a second place in all of Utah in 2010. Rich Levi took over as head coach in the fall of 2010 and Andy Langedorf has taken on the Varsity Head Coach responsibility for the 2011-2012 season. The boys team participates in an active fall program which wraps up with an out-of-state tournament and a spring season that kicks off in mid-February with an intensive three day training program, followed by a Las Vegas Tournament in early March.
