The PCLO Volunteer Program requires all families to either provide 10 volunteer hours after the December spring season kick-off meeting or, in lieu of hours, pay a fee of $200 per family. As with items 1-5 above, a player will not be allowed to practice or play in games until the PCLO has received payment from his family (regardless of intention to provide or not provide the volunteer hours). Checks in the amount of $200 should be made payable to PCLO and will be collected at the December 5th spring season kick-off meeting. The checks will be held by PCLO Treasurer Lisa O’Brien and will be returned at the end of the season if 10 or more volunteer hours have been fulfilled. For parents volunteering fewer than 10 hours, prorated refunds (using a rate of $20/hour) will be distributed at the end of the season. If your family intends to pay the fee in lieu of volunteer hours, please email bhoburg@comcast.net so she can keep track of the numbers.

BLACKOUT and SPRING BREAK
Generally, January-mid February is a "blackout" period (no practices with coaches) and we run a conditioning only program during this period. Full practices then start around February 13th. Be aware that Varsity and JV teams will continue practices and league games during the second half of our Spring Break. All players who intend to participate (JV and Varsity) in spring lacrosse must attend these practice sessions and games even though they are during the spring break.
This year we have been allocated indoor field time at the Basin Fieldhouse in January and February. Informal pickup practices/scrimmages without coaches (we are in blackout) will take place during these time slots (generally two times per week for an hour). All players who are not participating in a winter sport are expected to attend these scrimmages. A calendar setting out times/dates will be published shortly.
WINTER TRAINING CAMP
This year we will be replacing the winter training camp in Mesquite with a 3 day x 3 hours per day camp on the second weekend of the February break (Friday-Sunday, February 24-26). Sessions will all be held in facilities located in Salt Lake. All players who intend to participate (JV and Varsity) in spring lacrosse must attend these . Players who miss the Camp will be required to sit out the first two games of the spring season.
As you will see below, we have scheduled the Sunday portion of the camp in the afternoon to allow families to attend church, etc. However, none of the mandatory policies will apply to the Sunday training sessions as long as players/families communicate by email to the Coaches in advance that for religious reasons players will not be participating.
